About Arts for the Heart
No matter who you are or what your values or background are, everyone has a mental health. With the increasing chaos of a technology-filled, fast-paced life, college students’ mental health and wellbeing can tend to fall to the wayside. Self-care tactics can seem like a burden, especially when challenging academics and a robust social life are normally the expectation on campus. Arts for the Heart is an organization focused on the impact that self-expression has on mental health and wellbeing. Our legacy is to be a synthesis between mental health and the arts. Our mission is to provide students with a psychologically safe space where they can feel free to express themselves authentically and connect with others. Through workshops, students are prompted to explore various art forms while focusing on the therapeutic effects it can provide: stress reduction, increased mood, self-discovery, and more.
